A TISKET, A TASKET, A LITTLE PICNIC BASKET-My Weekend Finds!

Thanks for tuning in to the continuing saga of my unquenchable thirst for vintage stuff! Garage sales were PAthetic, so I hit the flea market. And I found something to get pretty excited about.

This wee little picnic basket!

I think it looks pretty darn cute down there with some of my collection. I came home from the flea market with only two things, but I'll save the other one for REDnesday. I did find a couple other treasures, but in unexpected places.

FOUND: My old globe, at my Mom's house. I loved that thing when I was a little girl. It now sits on the bookshelf in our living room, and it makes me happy to see it up there.

FOUND: Two pairs of really cute vintage curtains in that cupboard that I just painted! I decided to do a little rearranging in there, and refold all the vintage tablecloths. I vaguely remember buying these at an estate sale, probably 20 years ago. At the time, they just didn't go with the decor at the condo we were living in, but they were too sweet to pass up. They would have looked downright silly hanging next to lots of guitars and amps, but I digress. Do you ever buy things that you really can't use, but you just have to have it? I tend to do that alot! I once bought a vintage fabric cover for a birdcage, and I didn't even have a bird. I still have it, and I still don't have a bird!

I think I might be in love with these curtains. Although they are a little busy for me. I do like those birds and the birdhouse though. Please oh please ignore the filthy windows. We moved into this house 15 years ago, and we still can't get that window open. Painted shut forever. Dang, those curtains really do look cute!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to look around and see if I can find something else that I purchased two decades ago, and then forgot about!

Love the picnic basket and the curtains! Mmm do I ever buy something I don't need? That is a difficult question. Whenever I buy something I try to think of a destination rightaway, but fabric and vintage toys are always great. I actually don't sell (I'm planning) so a person does have too much quickly, on the other hand; how many christmas decorations is too much? And then you can always buy something 'as a present', that is something that comes in handy quite often! Does this answer your question?

Oh Carol Sweetie...
I LOVE those curtains and they do look so pretty at that window. Looks so precious, and match the walls quite nicely.

I love your little basket, the Daddy basket, the Moma basket and the wee little baby basket. LOVE IT...

The globe brought back memories for me. We too had one, but I know Daddy through it out long ago. We used to spin it and say where ever it landed with our finger when we touched would be our next vacation. Boy did we ever do alot of traveling in our wee minds.

Thank you for sharing sweetie. I loved my stop over today.

Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Oh those curtains do look good. They look clean, refreshing and very pretty. The picnic basket looks great and I like the way you set up everything. I have a three little bears picnic basket from when I was a child and I will send you a photo of it later, thanks.

Good morning to Carol! Come on over and see my happy room! I've got the urge to create so I started my September Give-Away "Storybook Craft Party"...We are going to have FUN!

The globe...I was in Goodwill last week and I am kicking myself in the behind...I found a globe that was a lamp! It was so cool but on one side part of the map had been scratched off so I left it behind. Live and learn! I've done this a few times in my life and wanted to just scold myself.

Yes...there is a story behind buying goodies you love and don't know why and have no room or place for them! Sometimes I've done that and then turned around and gave it to a friend and then in secret wished I hadn't. Naughty am I.

Looking forward to whatever treat you found for Rednesday!

I love that you were buying vintage 20 years ago - those curtains are great! I think I have wallpaper that almost matches them. (That would make that room VERY busy, wouldn't it?) That little picnic basket is too darn cute.
