Rednesday Time!

It's Rednesday! Time to share your love of the color red, and join me at It's A Very Cherry World, where Sue hosts this great party every week.

Guess What! I know you're not going to believe this, but I think I'm running out of Christmas stuff to show! No, really! Above is a picture of the tablecloth on our dining room table. Sorry I couldn't show you the whole table, but I'm using it as my wrapping station today!

An old card box. I'm having so much fun collecting old greeting cards, and I've recently acquired a taste for the boxes too.

Two old trays, and a tinsel tree on the kitchen counter.

A big Santa head hanging on the front door skeleton key. The key always stays in the door, because it's the only copy of it that we have.

Two old cross stitched pillows that I recently got at a thrift shop. The shop is run by senior citizens, and the cashier told me that she remembers making them in the 60s, she believes.

I think they're supposed to be Christmas pillows, but I'm not sure. They look Christmasy to me! Well, nothing very exciting to show this week. The thrift stores have been very disappointing this year for vintage Christmas things. I think I'll go antiquing on Thursday, and see if I can find something exciting, although the weather isn't looking to good. It's sleeting right now, and it's only supposed to be 14 degrees on Thursday. Winter has finally decided to show up!
Happy Rednesday!!

I love your Reds Carol. Those pillows are amazing and to think that you got to meet the woman that made them just makes them that much more special. I love old cards too! Hope you have a great Rednesday and enjoy your week, I'm sure you like everyone else will be pretty busy!!

Love your wonderful Rednesday items, especially the vintage tablecloth!

I haven't found even ONE vintage Christmas item at the thrift stores this season, so I'm glad I can visit your blog and admire all that you have found.

Hope your weather improves soon. We are getting a lot of snow here. My kids are hoping for a snowday tomorrow :)

Carol,
You have so many neat items! I love the tablecloth especially! I have yet to get any vintage Christmas ones....I know...strange, but I am very particular about those for some reason. Thanks for sharing!!!!

It's okay that you don't show us the whole tablecloth, that part is pretty enough all by itself! And make sure Santa doesn't get his beard caught in the door - ouch!

I like the cards in your sidebar best - they're adorable!

Carol I can't even get into Mr. Linky tonight. It's not liking my reds at all lol
You have some great vintage reds. I love all your side bar items, especially the cards. Love the wire basket also, I have one similar. Tablecloths and aprons are my weakness. You will always find reds to show us, I know it.
Happy Rednesday Carol.

Gorgeous red stuff again Carol. No I cant quite believe you are running out of Christmas stuff to show us! Vintage stuff is very popular in the UK this year and hence it is difficult to find anything. I do love the trays and I have been looking for a table cloth like that. There are a few on Ebay from US sellers but way too expensive for me!!
Happy Rednesday!

I would love to have a set of pillows like that for this time of year~~great find!

I have one door in this old house that has a skeleton key in it...I think they are neat!

I think you've got some great things there Carol. You need some excitement? Exciting is finding out that the skelton key to your bathroom door, the one your kids can reach, can lock the door from the outside too! Let me tell you, I was not doing the "happy" dance while I looked for it.
Warm hugs,
Dawn

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!

Just kidding. =0)

will it make you feel better to know, if it were not for the store, I have very little Christmas 'stuff, and I have not gotten any of it out yet???

I'm thinking of having Christmas in January this year, so i have more time. =))

Oh great Reds, Carol! I am especially fond of that tablecloth -- my Mom had one almost identical from the 50s I think -- but I am not sure where it is now. Wish I had it! I used to LOVE those big poinsettias on it.

I haven't been looking for vintage Christmas this year -- too busy finding what I already have! But I think that so many people now love the vintage things, with their echoes of past holidays, that it will be increasingly hard to find nice vintage Christmas items. Good luck tomorrow on your hunt!

You're supposed to warn me before you say scary things like "I'm almost out of Christmas stuff." Take it back! p.s. you absolutely may come to my cookie exchange next year. I'm going to start looking for a fun Christmas toy for your placesetting now.

So much to be excited about here! I have your same garland on your beautiful mirror! What a treasure that mirror is. Skeleton key! I can't recall the last time I heard that word, how lucky for you to have one. The pixies in the jar made me smile. I'm still smiling! Have a wonderful rest of the week (but your Rendsdays are my favorite! Elizabeth
