Vintage Christmas Monday #5

It's the last Vintage Christmas Monday, hosted by Joan @ Anything Goes Here, and I'm sad to see this party end!

This is a Made In Japan Santa that I found in an antique store, 5o% off! Is it just me, or does Santa look a little sunburned on his nose and cheeks?!

I saw this Santa salt shaker at Goodwill, but he was missing something. "Santa's" what? Santa's reindeer? Santa's cookies? After about half an hour of looking for something that would go with him, I gave up and left him behind.

A week later, I saw this at Goodwill, and I knew right away that I had found "Santa's" something! But now Santa was nowhere to be found! After about 20 minutes of seemingly pulling Goodwill apart....

I now have Santa and his packages. Phewww! The things we go through to get stuff that we don't really need!

Same thing happened with this cookie jar. I found it at Goodwill, walked around for a while looking for his hat. Never did find it. Didn't really need another one, as you can see.

But I had to have it, so I just slapped a stocking cap on him!
And I had to buy another old tree skirt because....

dirty little kitty has made Santa's beard black on this one, and I do believe that after Christmas I will just have to throw it out!
Now, if you arent' totally sick of seeing vintage Christmas things, hop over to Joan's to see her treasures and a list of other blogs participating, and....
Merry Christmas!!

Those Santas all look suspiciously like they've been into the mulled cider...*hiccup*...lol...or maybe they are in competition with Rudolph for reddest nose...

Carol, It's amazing how you find such neat things on your shopping jaunts! Santa and his pack are too cute, as are the Santa cookie jars. Love the addition of the hat instead of the missing topper. I hope you have a wonderful holiday. The season has gone by so fast! I've seen so many cool things that you own.
Merry, Merry! xo Sue

Hee-hee! My kitty likes to curl up on the tree skirt, too! At least she behaves and doesn't climb up the tree! ♥

Love those Santa cookie jars. They are just darling AND your cute kitty under the tree. Those black kittys do make a mess, but you know if you put a pretty little "blanket" in the floor they think it's just for them!!!
Have a wonderful Merry Christmas!
Blessings,
Debra

Hi Carol, I think that first Santa is related to the one I broke, or maybea they just have the same tailor with that poky fur on their suits!

Isn't it funny how obvious sets get seperated at Good Wiil. I think they do it on purpose to keep you looking for MORE things you can't live without!
Merry Christmas!

I'm sad to see the party end. After seeing all the amazing vintage treasures, it makes me want to hit the road for any thrift store or lawnsale I can find. Do you ever have enough plastic Santas. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Hi, Carol,
I am LOL at your post! hehehehehe

It looks EXACTLY like Santa has a sunburn and was wearing UV protected sunglasses so he didn't get burned there.
Santa's what? That was so funny. Glad you found it, though!
Have a wonderful Christmas.

Ha! Ha! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only obsessive gal stalking the aisles at Goodwill for, as you say, things we don't really need. But they make us so happy and that's what counts. I so enjoyed reading your story about Santa's packages.

I can SOOO relate to your "Santa's" what?story! I've done the same thing, searching the store for the missing piece! But, aaaahhhh, the thrill of success!

I love your Santa/Packages story! I don't know what was up with the sunburned Santa. Fortunately yours doesn't have a lot of skin showing. I found a set of Santa mugs with the same too-much-tanning-bed effect, and even I could not love them. They're still sitting on the shelf at the thrift store - they ought to be marked down to about free by now. Anyway - thanks for all the Christmas pictures, and Merry Christmas, Carol!
