My Weekend Finds and Happy Flag Day!

First off, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Flag Day! You know that a blog named OLD GLORY COTTAGE just lives for this holiday!

Members of the Continental Congress came to call on Betsey Ross in May 1776, and asked Mrs. Ross to stitch up the first flag. Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States in 1777.

These are just a few of the spots around the cottage that are sporting the grand old flag!

I didn't find alot at the garage sales this past week. But I did find this old USA vase and a copy of Flea Market Style. Am I the only one who was too cheap to buy this when it came out?! Can't wait to dive into it!

A nice Fall quilt for the porch swing. Ugh, let's not even think about Fall!

And after showing the copy of Anne of Green Gables that I got at a garage sale last week, many of you suggested the version with Megan Fellows. I asked a friend about it, and she whipped out these two sets for me to borrow! I think I'll save these for a day when it's too hot to do anything outside! So, did you find anything interesting this weekend?

Great to see all of your flags. I have mine up too!! Can't wait to drive down our main street not far from our home where the local high school is. They'll have U.S. flags all along the street! I love it. Signs of U.S. patriotism are not always so obvious here living on the border with Mexico.
God bless America!

Happy Flag Day, ours has been flying high since memorial day! I'd leave it up all year round, if it weren't for the weather here.
I Love that vase!

I figured you'd have flags all over for today, they look great! Love that first display.

First too hot (or too rainy) day, you must watch those movies, I'm sure you'll love them. :)

Oh my! Megan Follows *is* Anne Of Green Gables to me! I know the first movie by heart and it follows the book soooo closely whereas most movies based on books do not!

No, you're not the only one who didn't want to pay top dollar for that mag! Good grief!! Thank goodness, looking at blogs is free!

Happy flag day, Carol! ♥

Sorry I wasn't around on the 14th to wish you a Happy Flag Day. Of course, so appropriate for Old Glory Cottage. I love to see flags being put out, not just for the holidays. I take mine out in the morning and bring it back in at night. Thanks for sharing.
