IN THE GARDEN-PINK!
Let's take a peek at what's happening in the garden this week!
I finally got the garage windowbox planted. It used to be red like the shutters, but I'm tired of so much red. REDnesday friends, please pick yourselves up off the floor! You know I do love red, but I like other colors too! So I painted it white and I hated it for a while but now it's starting to grow on me.
Pink Astilbe and some Hostas.
I dug up some suckers from my Grandma's rosebush many years ago, and it's just starting to bloom.
A Duchess of Albany Clematis. I have never known a Clematis to be invasive, but this thing comes up in places besides where I planted it every year.
It was my late father-in-law's, and it is pretty darn cute, so I guess it can stay.
I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed, trying to keep up with the gardens. It's a never-ending battle with Mother Nature, and she kicks my butt every time! Some days I just want to drop my pruning shears and my Deep Woods OFF and head for the beach.
I sure could use a crew like this! They don't look like they would be paralyzed with fear by the little patch of poison ivy I spotted yesterday.....

Those girls look totally ready! Your flowers are luverly! Gardening is enjoyable to me as long as I remember that it will never all be done! ♥
Pretty! I love the flowers but stick to my deck garden cause I am such a wuss when it comes to the heat here in Georgia.
Your pink flowers are beautiful! Your hard work is paying off. I like the flower box painted white...it really showcases the flowers.
Have a great weekend.
Jane
Gardens always look best when there's a staff to attend to them - you're doing pretty well on your own, I'd say. I've got enough space to fill to like a somewhat invasive plant, so I'm going to keep that clematis in mind.
Lovely flowers!!! The flower box is perfect!!! Always fun to have plants that are connected to our loved ones. We transplanted blackberry shoots that are from plants that were planted by my husband's great grandfather over 100 years ago!!
Blessings
Everything looks great. I like overgrown English gardens rather than fussy manicured ones. I say let everything be free and wild. Ha! Have a fabulous Friday. Tammy
Carol it looks lovely...my astilbe is just not thriving this year. I spend my mornings in the garden well before the heat of the day...and no it is never done is it? Thanks for the lovely views...smiles...Renee
I know this gal called Jackie who loves postcards in the mail! Thank you dear one for thinking of me. That really made my day, the "not expected" moments of life.
I have about 100 gnomes for hire that could help you in the garden!
Had fun looking back at all your fun finds on your vacation. And your blog header. Too cute to even comment on...just awesome, cute, spendid and happy as can be!
Hey when those gals are done at your place, can you send them on out to me? I could use a team like that too. It just got too stinkin' hot the last few days, so I am a sometime gardener until it cools down a bit. (It was 105 yesterday! YIKES!)
I have had no luck trying to grow clematis. So nice to see yours so prettily blooming.
Love your window box it is really pretty. Those women look ready to do battle ;-)) have a lovely weekend, dee x
Stay Away from the poison ivy!!!

Have a Wonderful weekend.
Warmly,

Bellissima la fioriera bianca! e la clematis รจ meravigliosa! Buon weekend! Anna.
The clematis is a really neat one!
Your DGM roses are very nice. I am glad you were able to get a sucker from them. Great window box!
Send the troops to my garden. It needs as much help as it can get!!
Yes, staying still is a wonderful advantage when you paint. That's why I enjoy doing still lifes.
My favorites are still the flowers from my garden - like the beautiful ones you're growing now!
Have a great weekend!
Barb
Love your sweet flower box! I wish I had more spaces where I could use them!
Hugs,
Debbie
I hear you about the garden!! About the time I have it looking great....the next weekend I see the weeds and then think " I have to weed that bed again, I just did it!!"
Yours looks so pretty and pink!
Carol,
When the clematis drops all it's flowers is it done for the year or does it keep blooming?
I'm a learn as you go gal. Answer if you have time please and if not, I'll dive onto the internet and see what I can find.
