My Sewing Machine Is Finally Fixed!!!

A long long time ago, my husband gifted me with a sewing machine. It was so long ago that I don't remember if it was for Christmas, my birthday or just because! And it feels like it's been broken forever. I was quite stunned at how expensive it is to repair a sewing machine. How expensive? Let's just say that I could have had the oil changed in both of our cars for the same price!
So I was finally able to make this valentine bunting.

You would probably think that sewing hearts is easy. Well, you would be very WRONG! In my excitement at having a working machine again, I accidentally sewed a couple of the hearts shut, so I couldn't turn them right sides out.
And they're like snowflakes......
No two are alike! But that's OK. It still turned out cute, and no one will know except for those of you that are reading this right now!
I even whipped up a little cupcake blankie for Cupcake!
I think she likes it. Nighty night, Cuppy!
Yes, I'm quite thrilled to have my sewing machine working again. Why, the possibilities are endless! Even though I made myself give up quilting because I was horrendous at it, I just might take it up again. Maybe it wasn't ME that was so bad at it, maybe it was THE MACHINE! More projects to come.......

There in lies the problem...once it is fixed it still has manual error. I struggle with this every day. If only it would just sew on its own. Smiles....Renee

Beautiful bunting. Your cupcake kitten is just too sweet. As I was heading out the door, our Luna kitten was busy stealing dollhouse accessories from Josie's dollhouse. Naughty kitten.

Hugs!

How fun!! I'm so happy for you. Nothing like a good running sewing machine to get the creative juices going.

Love your vintage graphics, carol!

Your garland is just adorable! I have a hard time sewing a cloth napkin so no way would I think a heart would be easy!

I hope Cupcake took a good long nap with her new blankie. Our kitten is much more well behaved since we adopted my grand puppy and they have each other to wrestle with. I think you need a puppy, too. Okay? :)

PS check your yahoo- I sent you an e mail.

That's it--it has to be the machine, right? I'm glad you have yours back. I know what you mean about the cost of repairing one. I had to do that about a year ago. I guess it's better than having to buy a new one!

First time here. But I should return. Perhaps you could inspire me to get back to (simple) sewing!!! Wouldn't that be wonderful?!? :-)

And... I see that we both love RED.

Gentle hugs,

Oh Carol, Cupcake is one spoiled kitty. The only way she could be any more spoiled is if she had a cupcake to nibble on. Love the garland. Yes, if sewing doesn't work out ALWAYS blame it on the machine.

Thank you so much, for coming over and saying "Hi" in my blog, after I popped in here.

I see we really resonate with the color Red! :-)

And love the all-over-look of your blog. Part of my fun of blogging, is noticing all the unique ways, bloggers fix their own blog look. And also, noticing when they change their blog looks.

I suppose I do this, because I often get the urge to change mine. Fun!!!

And I also love the name of your blog. Any name with "Cottage" in it, grabs my attention. Love cottages. Wish we lived in one. Never will, for unique reasons. But can enjoy others tales of living in their cottages! :-)

Sew dear one...to your hearts content. I loved how you said you were quite "STUNNED" at the cost. That is how I feel everytime I buy anything except at the thrift store! Smart girls like us know how to shop...thrift!

Yesterday at the store a church gave us everything left over from their HUGE sale...I can hardly wait to get into those boxes today.

By the way, I have a box coming to you, I just need to push it out the door, into my car and off to the postoffice...

Love from me to you,
Happy Sewing!
