MY WEEKEND FINDS-Flea Market Season Opener!

Thanks for tuning in to another episode of My Weekend Finds, the continuing saga of one girl's quest for more junk!

It's official: The flea market if OPEN for business! It's never opened this early in the year. Why so early? Global warming? Who cares! It's open!
I've coveted a Hendryx Art Deco birdcage for a few years now. They were the Cadillacs of bird cages back in the day! But these days they are very expensive. Once again it just goes to show you that if you wait, things will come to you at your price.
I can't believe I actually walked away from it though, and stunned that it was still there when I regained my senses and trotted back for it!
Vintage Easter baskets, only 50 cents each. These baskets, and the rest of my finds, were bought from a man selling his parents' things from their estate. His prices were so incredibly cheap that I almost started to cry when he said he wouldn't be back at the flea market next week!
LOVE this wastebasket. Again, SO cheap. Definitely needs a good cleaning though.
An old plant stand. I won't tell you how much it was, because YOU might start to cry! I have one just like it in our living room, but this one is going on the porch.
I've wanted some of these forever, and when I asked how much these mercury bead picks were, he said 50 cents. Each? NO, for ALL of them. Oh my.....
I love coming across a seller who isn't in it just for the money. And I have to tell you that I'm rather proud of the restraint I showed today, because I could have bought much, much more......
So, did you go flea marketing or garage saling over the weekend?

I'm totally smitten with your vintage Easter baskets. I dug out mine yesterday. You did so good at the flea market. Those mercury beads are hard to find.

Interesting to know about the Hendryx bird cages. I'll keep an eye out!
Love the pink glass bead picks, and that was a terrific price! Those are still one of my all-time favorite things to find!

Oh that birdcage!I would of had to come and pop you on the head if you didn't go back and get that. That is so nice.

I am with you, I love it when the seller isn't trying to make alot of money on their things.I am so glad they opened early and he was there! Maybe he will end up being there next week anyway.

I didn't buy anything this week. I even passed up two garage sales. I also didn't look at what was at the auction. I was a good girl!!

Well, I'm proud of you for showing restraint, but I'm not going to encourage it. I like seeing your stuff!

Hi Carol,
No You can't have my watering cans, because I see you got a birdcage that I can't have.
That was a really good day you had at the market. Its really to bad that you don't live closer to me, we could go all over the country side and fight about who gets what. Good times.

I love flea markets and most of the ones we frequent stay open year around. You certainly found some wonderful treasures. I especially like the plant stand.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving the sweet comment.

The wastebasket is so cool! I don't think I'd have any restraint at such a terrific sale. Great finds!

Oh my Carol, you have got me drooling. I love the birdcage! My girlfriend gave me a large one that she picked up at a yard sale for my birthday and it's a treasure, but I have never seen one shaped like that before. The garbage can is so cute also. I saw on someones blog how they used a stand like that to display all of her fiesta ware. It was so darn cute. I know that you will have it fab whatever you do. Love the beads too! What a deal!!

Jann
