You're never going to believe this, but I haven't decorated inside for the 4th. At all. ME, whose favorite holiday is the 4th of July! It's a disgrace, isn't it? Rest assured, I made up for it on the outside of the house! I must say, Old Glory Cottage sure does live up to her name when the patriotic holidays roll around!
Can't wait 'til the Black-Eyed Susans begin to bloom beneath the bushes. It will be a riot of color!
I made this wreath a few years ago, and it hangs on the front door. Let's head out to the front porch.....
I made the picket flag and painted the milk can alot of years ago!
I coveted that spindle with the flags from Terry's Village for a long time but could never afford it. Years later I found one at a garage sale. If you wait, it will come!
The porch swing. That OLD GLORY pillow was a gift from Sue at It's A Very Cherry World! Ok, now let's walk around to the back of the house. Did I forget to warn you that this was going to be a long post with lots of pictures? Consider yourself warned!
The back porch, with minimal decorations.
Thinking outside the box. I saw this sparkly Christmas tree topper at a dollar store and knew right away that it was going to be perfect for the windowbox. It looks really cute at night all lit up. I'd share a pic, but it just ends up looking like a big white blob....
The birdie in the cage got a sparkly party hat!
Summer blankets.......
Finally found my very own Tonka truck at the flea. Sorry Mr. Old Glory, but I swiped a few of your firecrackers!
Watering cans in need of fresh coats of paint....
When I saw these star tablecloth weights at Dollar Tree last year, I had a really great idea of what I could do with them. Problem was, I didn't buy them right away and never did get any until this year.
They clip onto things so easily.....
Like an umbrella! Finally, an idea brought to fruition, and it only took a year!
A hen and her chicks in the garage windowbox.
BIG SAMMY, another project from years ago. He's taller than I am!
The red bicycle. Sure wish I could think of something patriotic to put in that basket on the back. Any ideas?
Well it was driving me nuts, not being able to share the cuteness of this, so I just went outside to try to get a decent shot. And it actually worked. YAY!!!~~~~So now you've seen Old Glory Cottage in all her patriotic glory. I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July!

Great job, Carol! Yay, you caught the star lit up1 I get so frustrated trying to take "lit" pics!
I meant to do my porch up big for the 4th but alas- only 2 decorations! sigh. Maybe next year. I've just been having too much fun swimming.
Those table cloth clips are so cute. I didn't see those at the dollar tree but I did get one of those paper lanterns.
If your weather is dry, how about rolling up some of those patriotic quilts/blankets for the bike basket? ♥
I love your front porch and back porch! Your collection of 4th of July treasures are FUN! Love the wreath and sweet truck! Aren't the trucks fun to decorate with!

Your house is beyond adorable. Your neighbors must love to look out their windows at all the pretty things. The quilts, the pillows, the lights and flags. It all screams Old Glory, indeed.

Super festive. You certainly know what holiday it is at your house!
Very, very patriotic and festive. Oh please don't repaint those watering cans, they are amazing just like they are......all chippy and worn!

Looks so nice I love all the quilts. Nice decorations Happy July with love Janice
Carol, just love all the red and white blankets. You should be decorated since you are Old Glory Cottage. One thing you need is my vintage Holly Hobbie Patriotic watering can...or do you have one? Enjoy your day!
I'm late posting. I hope your 4th was good!

Oh for goodness sakes! I must tell you Old Glory Girl, I decorate for Patriotic holidays the week before Memorial Day and leave it up thru the 4th! I love the colors too! Our son in the Air Force provides more inspiration, he's based in Pearl Harbor at Hickam Air Force Base now, vintage Honolulu reigns in addition to my patriotic and military themes! Great idea on the stars...I wonder if there are any on clearance..off to Dollar Tree!
Just discovered your fun blog thru a friends blog! Love all your patriotic house decorations and yummy garage sale finds! Will hnt your blog up again!
Hi Carol: Like you i love the vintage decorations. I have quite a few of them. I have the plastic duck or goose on wheels with the egg in the middle. I'd like to know if you know anything about it, the manufacturer, etc. I want to put it on Ebay. Thanks for your help. you can e-mail me at: dquirk@hcpo.org
My brother had that garage. It was at my mom’s after she passed & he didn’t want it. I think it is out in my garage & I would have loved to have found a good home for it. I can’t just toss it, even though it has some rust.
