A Fine Day At The Flea!

What a glorious day at the flea market! The weather was perfect, there were a ton of sellers, and we were all squeezing the last bits of fun out of the flea market season. Hopefully we'll have three more Sundays, weather permitting.

I've been waiting for a vintage Old Maid game to come my way. I really love the images on this edition. The old globe is also a bank, and I was able to date when it was made HERE. It was made in 1961, the year I was born! I also picked up that little red picnic basket.......

and added it to part of my collection. I wonder if they ever made even smaller ones.

I also picked up a couple of vintage Valentine planters, and the girl is a bell.

Two birth month angels.

Our model for the vintage jewelry portion of the show is this Beistle skeleton.

I found this pin and necklace for 25 cents each.

And this necklace was also 25 cents. Thank you Ms. Skeleton. Your performance was spine-tingling!

I also found some old magazines that I can't wait to crack open and look at all of the vintage ads.

I'm particularly curious to look through that April '45 issue of Woman's Day. I know WWII was wrapping up then, so it will be interesting to see if there are any references to it, or if this was something that women could sit and read and be blissfully unaware for a few hours that anything was going on across the pond.

And last, we have an old Christmas box and a bunch of paper lanterns.
I'm pretty excited, because this week Mr. Old Glory and I are going to The Covered Bridge Festival in Indiana. We'll see lots of crafts and antiques. Oh, and covered bridges too. And we plan to eat our way through it all! So, did you find anything interesting over the weekend?

  10. There's some mighty good loot there. Great job! Love it all- but the little red box is my favorite. I have never been to covered bridge. Everyone here goes, but after doing shows for years, it just doesn't appeal to me. Not until eveyone brings back all this good stuff!
Last year I sold wholesale to people who had 2 big booths over there. I would not want to pay their rent! OMG!
Hope you have a good time- heard the food their is the best anywhere.

Make sure and post what you bring home so I can drool!
    Hugs- Tete

I didn't get out over the weekend to pick up goodies but I did make a fast stop to a shop on Monday. I bought two red check napkins. I don't have a clue what to do with them, but they are charming! Any ideas?
