I FINALLY PAINTED SOMETHING!!!

Do you remember this cabinet that I showed you a couple weeks ago, that I wanted to paint, but had no clue what color, or if I should even paint it at all? Ever since I discovered Daisy Cottage, I've been so inspired by Kim's love of color. Well, I finally painted it!

But what color? There are soooo many options.

At this point I was pretty sure I wanted to paint it green. Maybe this groovy green?

In the end I let the lid of this picnic basket be my inspiration! I've always loved that shade of green, so why not?

So I hopped on the ladder, after making sure that my makeup and hair were just right...

And I painted away!

And this is the final result. I LOVE IT!!! Why didn't I do it sooner? Oh yeah, because I was afraid to take the plunge.

I even did some distressing here and there.

And when I was done, I felt like this gal. I PAINTED IT MYSELF!

Oh, and Ms. Secretary Hutch? Brace yourself, because you're next!

I really like the color that you chose for your cabinet. It looks really good.
I love your vintage paint adds too.
For some reason painting goes much smoother when your hair and makeup
are just right.

Carol - Great color choice! I, too have been inspired to paint things by Kim at Daisy Cottage. And if you decide you don't like the color......you can always change it later!
Nice job - the cabinet looks terrific!

that is my absolute favorite color.
I have a lot of pieces that I bought that were already painted (I'm a terrible painter) including a whole wicker set.
It looks great!

Carol, I love it! Fabulous color choice! Your vignette pops now. Funny, I see someone else had the exact same thought. It must be working then! I'm going to paint my china cabinet green too - maybe over Labor Day weekend. Can't wait to see what you do with your secretary.

Oh how pretty! I really did say that to myself when the first picture came up. I love it! Great arrangement on top too! You're much braver than me, don't know if I could have ever painted that, but you made the right decision. :)

Way to go girl!

If I was that girl in the picture, my hair would have paint all in it! I'm a messy painter! ♥

Carol..awesome job!! Now did you use paint or spray paint? One or two coats? May I ask what brand of paint and the name of the color?

It is so hard to get a good picture color..this really has a vintage look on my screen. I hope you got the look you wanted..I love it..and it sure makes the objects on top pop!!!!!

Are you painting the secretary the same color?

CAROL I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!
Isn't it amazing how scared we are to paint....I think it comes from years of hearing, SAVE THE NATURAL WOOD....painting just de-values it.
Well, it's of no value to me if I don't like the way it looks.
LOVE THE GREEN!!! You made an EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!

Love the paint job. That color is fabulous and really makes the piece fabulous. I have many things I would like to paint. I'll have to take the plunge one of these days. It's not that I don't want to, it's just the process. Have a great weekend. :) Tammy

oooooooo - I love that shade of green! It's bee-you-ti-ful. A tad disappointed, though, that we didn't get to see you in wardrobe and makeup on the ladder. Maybe when you paint the next piece? p.s. I have not forgotten about your giveaway package! I swear!
