REDNESDAY!

I don't have a whole lot to share today for REDnesday. Since Valentine's Day is over, I feel like I'm all out of reds! These are vintage curtains that are hanging on the back door.

I finally made it to TJ Maxx for some of these cute shopping bags! They're hanging by the back door, all ready to be filled up when flea market season starts again, in.......about a month and a half!!!

I decided that I had better rescue our daughter's old Fisher Price barn from the garage, before it got destroyed. I bought it for her at a garage sale, so it was well-loved by the time she got it. It's got a copyright date of '67 on it. I had no idea it was that old!

I love the graphics on it, especially the little bluebirds that have made a nest way up there by the vent. And the Pennsylvania Dutch barn art.

And the dog snoozing under the bench. Not to mention the advertising for the circus that the farmer allowed on the side of his barn!
If you would like to see more reds, head over to It's A Very Cherry World, where Sue is our hostess. She always has great reds to share!

Carol, the barn is so cute. I have seen them a million times, a million years ago, but never really paid attention to the the graphics on it. How cute. They just don't make toys that cute anymore.

Oh what sweet family memories in that barn - for you AND for me - as my children enjoyed one of those, and later, thanks to a yard sale, my grandchildren enjoyed one for a few years. How fun for a quiet Rednesday!

Sometimes it is surprising what we can find when we start digging around. You came up with a perfect showing of reds.

Well, you found your red again. This time it is so precious. My children had one similar to this years ago.

I had bought the same toy barn at a lawn sale when my daughter was little, around 1990 or so. I sold it with the little silo last summer for $25 it had a lot of the animals. I thought that was good. Oh well. Thanks for the idea to help with my blog. I did find someone to help and I am so happy. she was amazing. I will be writing about her. Thanks for your help. I knew I could get some answers from my friends. By the way, you are going to mentioned as well. Thanks.

Now that has to be the one my brother had. Does it still moo when you open the barn door? I would just make that doggone thing moo and moo and moo till I must have driven my mom nuts! I had the house and I would also ring and ring and ring the doorbell. I remember that lazy dog. (My brother was born in 1967 so that has to like the one from when he was a wee one.) Thanks for the memories!

Oh and I want that T.J. Maxx bag - BAD! I never go to those, but there is one right next to my favorite Target so I guess I better head on over there. I really, really, really want that bag. I think I might dream about it tonight. Soon.....I must go there soon.

The barn really did attract me too. I love the color and it was pretty awesome. But everything about your work was all very well done and they were all perfectly great. I enjoyed it a lot.

I love the barn! If we'd kept all that good old stuff we'd either be wealthy or buried under the treasure.

I'm with you, on the itch to hit flea markets ... yard sales ...

Carol I have a very similar Fisher Price barn and all the animals that went with it, that was my children's toy in the early 8o's :) I also "rescured" it out of my garage for my grandson to play with! After seeing Cindy's remark I wonder if it is worth anything?

Happy REDnesday!

Ahhh, that barn has memories for me! My sister had it and the little school house. I use to play with them when she outgrew it.

I love your Sears and Robuck house! It is so pretty. What a neat story.

I think you just thought you were out of reds! I love everything you shared. I love those bags. Vintage curtains are so pretty, I grew up in the era when priscilla curtains and lace panels were at our windows, I am definitely in love with vitange things.
The Fisher Price barn is wonderful. I know they are coming out with reproductions of some of the old time favorites.

Your vintage curtains are so pretty! We just made new curtains for our kitchen out of vintage sheets. We hope that you do in fact find some wood on the curbside, that would be great! We love our little truck and hope to find another one in aqua!

Have a great weekend,

Man, slogging through 33 comments to get here plumb wore me out! Just wanted to let you know that I've added your name to the GJB Fan Club membership and will be mailing you the official pendant soon. Those shopping bags are CUTE--wonder if my TJ Maxx has 'em. I try to stay away from TJ Maxx, though--their jewelry counter is waaaaaay too much temptation!

I remember that old Fisher Price barn. Call me old but I love the old toys that let kids just play and use their imagination.
