You Mean I Don't Have To Cook Today? Or Clean?!

This is my favorite picture of my Mom. I forgot why she said she had her head in that old wagon wheel, but I think it was some tourist attraction in Chicago. She's 86 now, and has started slowing down only in the last couple of years.

This is the person who calls me Mom. Our daughter Liz. She's home from college, and we're going to spend the whole day together. I can't wait, because she's lots of fun! We're going to see a movie, and she's going to make a new blog banner for me. And since it's Mother's Day, I'm almost positive she'll be extra patient with me, as I change my mind time and time again.

I never did get around to making a Mother's Day display. Just kind of propped up my collection on the bookshelf and called it a day!

The poems on these old framed pieces are so lovely.

Isn't this cottage cute? I want to live there! So what will you be doing on Mother's Day?

I'm not doing any of this foolishness. NO cooking, and NO cleaning!

Which makes me feel positively giddy!
Happy Mother's Day!

Liz is a real cutie!

I'm on my way out to the kitchen to warm up some leftover meatloaf for our supper - - - does that count as "work" on Mother's Day?

My goodness Carol, we sure make beauty Queens for daughters! Both of us are blessed with pretty girls with big hearts!

Mom's day was divine for me. Japanese dinner with two sons and the next day Kara took me painting and for a pot of English tea...fabulous fun!

I was in an antique mall the other day and saw two vintage t.v. trays and thought to myself, if Carol was here there would be one for her and one for me. You could have had the ones with cherries and yellow daisy flowers. I would have taken the one with pink gerber daisy flowers. Only $6.95 each. I know you would not have been able to resist!

Have you been to Holly's blog? The cutest ducks and chickens!!!
