PINK SATURDAY
For this week's Pink Saturday, I'd like to share some vintage pottery. This gorgeous piece came from Goodwill. I was so glad no one was standing near it, otherwise they might have been knocked over in my eagerness to grab it! My Goodwill store is fast becoming one of my favorite places to shop. In the past I would walk in and right back out, empty-handed. And they keep their Christmas stuff out year-round. I Love That!!
The McCoy pot on the right is a recent flea market find. The seller asked me if I knew anything about it. McCoy Pottery. I always play dumb in situations like this. I said "McWho?" I think I get better deals when I do this, instead of saying I'm a collector. Do you ever play dumb to try to get a better deal?
Another Goodwill find from a couple weeks ago. I just saw this same thing at an antique store yesterday, 10x what I paid for it. Again, I love Goodwill! This kitty and her ball of yarn are holding my paint brushes on the kitchen table until I put them away. But why bother, when Christmas crafting season is upon us?!
If you would like to see more pink things, head over to How Sweet The Sound, where Beverly hosts this pink-loving party every week!
Pretty pinks. HPS to you and I love the blog's header. Have a good weekend.

ReplyDeleteHPS to you! Love the pottery. Thanks for sharing. I love pink! Anne
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty pink pottery!! McCoy who? Oh yes I act like I don't know anything if I can. Grab, pay low price, run, start the car.......
ReplyDeleteVintage pink pottery pieces are just the best things in life. Love your new ones!

Those certainly are the sweetest little pink finds. Especially that last little kitty & yarn holder. So sweet! Have a super Saturday. :) Tammy
ReplyDeleteOur Goodwill is not close by, but whenever I am near it, I zip in. I almost always find something...and like you....I find the prices are good. Our other thrift stores have really hiked their prices. I'm guessing that's because so many more folks are shopping them right now. Goodwill, however, has kept their prices at a thrifty level...and their store is always CLEAN!!
ReplyDeleteMcWho? That was pretty cute!
HPS!!! Dana
ABSOLUTELY love, LOVE the Goodwill! Although ..... the Salvation Army is awesome too (often even cheaper)!!! :) I even talked the Salvation Army man down on a wonderful sage-y sitting chair, I practically skipped out that day. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, some GW's here are better for certain items than others. Unfortunately, my favorite one is getting pricey. The economy has tanked and the prices for donated items has risen. Not right, but what are you going to do? Love the two pieces you scored, especially that pink piece. I just went to a church fair and those prices were just right....25 cents, 50 cents and $1.00.
ReplyDeletequite a different perspective here~
ReplyDeletecharity shops are in business to raise funds for the charity, so shoppers are wanting to support the charity by their purchases.
we see it as receiving something we'd like in exchange for a donation rather than trying to get something for as cheap as possible...
Lovely pinks! Yes, GW, Salvation Army, they are wonderful places to shop!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI also love those deals-when I try to play dumb(which I mostly am) it just gets me in trouble!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could swap our Goodwill Store for yours...your finds are almost too good to be true. HPS.
ReplyDeleteI collect vintage pottery, too. Congratulations on your great finds! And happy Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteOh Carol, you Know I am salivating over you finds! My Goodwill is not nearly as plentiful:( That first pink one is very unusual. Have a wonderful day, my friend. Twyla

Hi Carol, great PINKS today, er, yesterday, see, you aren't the only one running late this week! I love McCoy and yes, I play dumb too! Glad your Goodwill is good because ours STINKS! Not only is there never anything there worth bringing home, well, vintage wise, but they are waaaay over priced too. Thanks for sharing, Nan
ReplyDeleteMy blog friend Claudia collects McCoy. I think you're probably right. Don't let them know how much you know!

Wow...you do very well at the Good Will. I will have to check the one out by my house again. You have some beautiful pieces.
ReplyDeleteHPS...late,
Sue
Play dumb? You mean intentionally? Not just because it comes so naturally to some of us? What an idea!
