REDNESDAY-Vacation Finds

Happy First Day Of Summer! I don't know what it's like by you, but here it's a balmy 86. Definitely summer weather, although a perfect summer day to me is no hotter than 75!

I thought I'd share more finds from our vacation. At one garage sale, on every table there was a beautiful vintage tablecloth, underneath all of the things for sale. Unfortunately the seller wouldn't part with any of them, but as luck would have it, at the very next sale, I found this beauty with the red border and pink flowers for 75 cents!

My grandparents always had a can of hard candy sitting out at Christmastime, and this one was in the free box, so I figured it needed to come home with me. Love the sweet old Ten Commandments book too.

It was pretty obvious to me, if not to Mr. Old Glory, that this vintage print just had to make the trip back to Old Glory Cottage!

This canisters are in pretty sad shape, but they have RED GINGHAM BOWS on them! I'll probably just use them for storage. If you'd like to see a set in lots better shape, check out Mecky's!

And if you'd like to see more red things, head over to It's A Very Cherry World, where Sue hosts Rednesday every week. Oh, and have a great First Day Of Summer!

  4. I am one of those people who put my vintage tablecloths on the tables at my garage sale too. It attracts people to the sale...and I always get comments on them. My big sale is this weekend and I can't wait to purge my house/garage/attic. Love the tins with the bows.

You did great on your garage sale finds!!Love the tablecloth! I adore those canisters. Would you believe after I finally found some on Ebay, I found two at the flea market. 2.00 a piece, but they aren't very nice. I grabbed them anyway!
I really like your flag picture. I almost bought one at the antique mall Sunday. I thought of you when I saw it. Funny that you found one!!
I forgot about Rednesday tomorrow. I have so many new reds to share. I better get busy!!

  10. What fun finds for Rednesday. Since I'm in the midst of the 10 Commandments Bible Memory verses for kids and grand children, though, my very favorite is definitely the vintage ten commandments book for children. How cool! Thanks for a lovely visit.

  11. Happy Summer! Love your vacation finds! What a shame they wouldn't sell those vintage tablecloths to you. Don't they know you're famous for taking in and loving old vintage tablecloths? Maybe you should have a special badge made so strangers will know how good and kind you are to vintage tablecloths. Just a thought......

You've got a good eye Carol for the EXTRA cute! Thanks for sharing!

    Hugs,
    Janelle

  14. Thanks for sharing your fun finds. I love old canisters too. I usually line them with a plastic bag since the insides are often a bit rusty, but they are so darn cute that I can't resist them. Same with the tablecloths. I'm visiting from Rednesday. Loved your sweet photos!

  21. What a beautiful tablecloth and a great deal! We recently were at a yard sale and the woman was using a vintage tablecloth on one of the tables of her yard sale items. We really loved it, and asked if she would sell it. Thankfully she said yes and it was only 3 dollars and in great condition. We will be posting a picture of it soon! We just adore those canisters with there sweet gingham bows.

    Have a great day,
    Laura and Michele
