REDNESDAY!

I'm so glad to be linking up with REDNESDAY once again, over at It's A Very Cherry World, where Sue is our red-lovin' hostess!

When Renee at My Vintage Mending showed this patriotic ornament that she had made, using vintage Christmas goodies, I knew I had to try and beg, borrow or steal it from her! Luckily, she so kindly offered to send it to me. Vintage patriotic Christmas decorations are hard to find, and very expensive, so I can't tell you how much I love this, and appreciate Renee's generosity and talent!

These vintage pixies came from an estate sale last week. It's so rare to find a set like this, so I was thrilled!

I can never pass up a vintage Christmas tablecloth......

And it's Kitty Tested, Kitty Approved!

After about 15 minutes of shots like this, with Cupcake batting around that ornament.......

I finally got a shot of this little Lefton girl. And it's made me realize that I definitely won't be able to decorate for Christmas the way I normally do. I'm pretty sure Cupcake is going to be a tree climber and an ornament-batter-arounder!
Thanks for looking at my reds this week, and please head over to Sue's to see lots more!

  9. My cats have sometimes shown an interest in the Christmas tree - if you can stand to put a 'tree skirt' made of foil around it for a couple of days, it helps - apparently they won't walk across foil. I also should wrap my dining room table in foil, since one of my cats, like Cupcake, likes to take in the view from there.

  10. Your little pixies look so mischievous!

    DITTY IN RED

    Just a pinch of scarlet
    To liven up the place;
    Just a hint of ruby
    Brushed upon your face;
    Just a bit of cherry
    Dancing round your toes;
    Just some sanguine colors—
    That’s the way it goes!

  13. What a kind gesture for Renee to do for you!!
    My kitty climbed the tree her first year and it fell over and ornaments broke. Since then (she is now 13) she sits under the tree or ignors it.

  24. It has been far too long since I've been by your blog as Ive been away from blogging myself for a while now. Loved all the red shares, your kitten is adorable, and can I just say I love your banner over the posts- Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Junk! Love it!

    We dont have a kitten thi year but we DO have an 18 month old and so Ive decided we are going to get a miniature tree this eyar and put it up on a table top, so i can understand the idea of "altered decorations". :) Best of luck and thanks for sharing!

  28. The action shot of Cupcake behind your adorable Girl Figurine is hilarious! Love it.

    I'm new to figurines, I had no idea about Lefton, now I need to go look it up. I've seen a few figurines like that in my area. Now I need to keep my eye out!

    PS: Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  29. Hi Carol! Love the pixies - I've never seen a whole set of them before! I sure hope Cupcake behaves! I was so worried that my cats would climb up the tree, etc., when we first got them, but all they do is drink water from the holder!
