It's Rednesday!!

It's that day of the week again, where we check out everybody's red stuff at It's A Very Cherry World, where Sue is our hostess!

I got this little plastic pitcher at that garage sale on Friday, where the little old lady was so proud of her treasures that she was selling. I love this thing, with it's cute ruffled lid! It's perfect for holding my green tea that I drink every day.

This is an old advertising measuring cup from Red Owl grocery stores. It was bought out by Supervalu, but there are some stores out there that are still using that great Red Owl logo.

I couldn't pass up this Little Red Riding Hood doll at the flea market. I don't know why, because I am not a doll buyer, but she was in my hand and in my purse before I knew what hit me!

And finally, this old souvenir of Chicago, an egg timer. Don't know why I bought this either! Probably the 25cent price tag had alot to do with it! I bought this from a former antique store dealer at the flea market, and he really should have known better than to put a price tag on the front of anything! I can not get that mark off. For shame!
Well, if you liked seeing my red stuff, head on over to Sue's to see more!

Hey Carol! That owl is so cute! I love all your vintage red items. It's all your's and Sue's fault I have another collection going! If only I had left that one red sifter in the attic...

Have you tried "Goo be Gone" on the sticker residue on the timer? It works great but test a small area first to make sure it doesn't damage anything else. I use it all the time but only had a problem once. What I though was etched glass turned out to be a gluey applique and I wiped it right off along with the sticker!

I got the lamp at home depot last year. I stalked it for a long time before it went on sale. I think it was close out at half price but I don't remember for sure. I think Maine Cottage Furniture used to have turned lamps in great cottage styles but they were PRICEY! I used to love to browse the website but it was all to expensive. It bummed me out so I quit looking. Besides, it's more fun to hunt things down ten click for it online!

Happy Rednesday!

Have you tried rubbing peanut butter on the leftovers of the tag? Then you have to wash it with soap - but usually the oil in the peanut butter will take that stuff right off.

Cute red things!

I wonder if that is a stain from the tag. Would peroxide remove it?

Love all your red things. The Red Owl logo is fantastic!

Carol, I see your red rooster measuring cup holder in the side bar. While I was in WI this summer, I saw a FISHING pole measuring cup holder, and the CUPS were all fish. It was too stinkin' cute, but I left it in the store - - - didn't want to spend the moola for it. If I had my OWN cottage on the lake, that sucker would have been MINE.

I definitely would have bought that pitcher with the ruffled top. And the egg timer, too. Is that a sticky mark? That kind of thing is the bane of my existence.

Hi Carol,
You've shared some great reds! I like your ruffled cover on the pitcher too! Goo Gone works wonders on sticky residue left over from price tags and such. Thanks for sharing and Happy REDnesday.

I love your pinks...I don't think I have ever seen a pink mixer. All your reds are very pretty also but I think I got stuck on that pink mixer. How cool!!

Thank you for your visit and your kind comments. I appreciate your thinking the dress I made is special. It is getting close to vintage now as my daughter is now 25 years old! I remember working on it at church doing handwork on it while the kids were rehearsing the Christmas play. The other day my mother showed me patterns of kids clothes. Turns out they are mine and that dress pattern was in among them! Of course I brought them home as I could make something from them for my granddaughter.

Love your REDS!
