Mr. Old Glory and I decided it would be a great day for a drive through the woods, enjoying all of the fall colors. After all, it's 52 degrees, and sunny! WooHoo!
But when I saw what he was going to wear....
I had to hurry up and change my clothes! You see, we are a house divided, during football season! He is a Chicago Bears fan, and I am a Green Bay Packer fan. So is our daughter. I brought her up right! We have lots of fun, and a "friendly" rivalry!
But in the end, it's proof that opposites do attract! Go Packers and Bears!!

Oh my - that is a house divided. Don is from Wisconsin and loves his Packers - even after all these years later.
I'm not at all sure that a Packer can hold a Bear's hand. I'm POSITIVE that a Packer CANNOT hold a Viking's hand!!!
:-)
You two are sooooo cute strolling through the gorgeous autumn leaves.
Hi Carol,
Nice to meet you. Thanks for discovering my blog.
I love the fall leaves in your photos.
Rosemary
Your strolling hand in hand thru the leaves of autumn, is wonderful ... regardless of the jackets. Go Dallas! Chuckle!

Too cute - love the opposites and such a great picture of the two of you with the fall leaves !

How can you "bear" to have that jacket around? lol...send it "packing" -- lol
Awwww - there is hope for peace on earth.
Cute post! Glad it is a friendl rivalry, and I love the photo of the two of you holding hands! laurie
Glad to see that two rivals can be friends! I love the autumn colours.
We have a similar situation with the teams when Michigan State and University of Michigan play! Our daughter Carrie graduated from state and our other daughter Tamara graduated from UM. And I also worked for UM for over twenty years! We do not gather in the same room for the games...he, he!
Carol, You asked about shortening for the spice cake recipe...you can use any shortening instead of the Spry. Crisco is often used but whatever you have at home will work!
I'll have more "Spry" recipes for that was the shortening used most during the 50's and 60's!
Have a fabulous day!
Coralie
