Vintage Greeting Cards

I have always loved vintage greeting cards. The graphics are just so sweet! When I discovered Coralie's blog, A Vintage Cottage Home, I knew I had to have some cards of my own. Coralie has a beautiful collection, which she shares every day. I haven't been lucky enough to find any cards at garage sales, and didn't want to pay a couple of dollars for just one card at antique stores. Ebay wasn't an option for me either. I'm too cheap! So when I found some last Friday at an antique store, for 25 cents each, I was ecstatic! I will be going back to that store by myself, so I can take as much time as I want looking through all of the cards, because now I want more!
I love the old sparkly cards!

I want to live in this cottage!

This card is almost exactly like a card my Grandma sent me once when I was sick. I still have the card. Aren't Grandmas the best?

Ooo la la!

This little cottage would do very nicely too!

There is some fluffy stuff on this one. Or it was fluffy at one time, but now it's been mushed down over time. Still so dang cute!

Can you stand how sweet this one is?!

This one might be my favorite. Maybe.

And I got this old card box, because Coralie buys them too, and they're very pretty in their own right. Look at that little flower shop girl! Cuteness overload!!

If you had bought that box of cards new, you would have had to plunk down 39 big ones at Goldblatts. Oh do I miss Goldblatts. And Woolworths. And Ben Franklin!! My favorite! And Korvettes. Anyone remember Korvettes? Ahhh, the good old days....

I love any card with a bluebird. Or a striped awning. Or a cottage. Or a wishing well. We did not have Korvettes :( but we had Murphys and Grants and Kresges and all those other great stores - sigh.

I just started collecting those cards too, I'm in love! It's a little hard to find them for under a dollar, but they are out there! Thanks for sharing yours!

Thanks for sharing the pics of your vintage cards. Lately I have picked up a couple boxes of them at estate sales and I am (gasp!) using them. I just think they are so much cuter than the cards of today.

Blessings
