Patriot Day

THE GRATITUDE SALUTE: Have you ever seen one of our military walking past you, and wanted to convey your thanks for their service to our country? But you felt awkward doing so? I always thank our men and women when I meet one, but I will start doing this instead, because no words are necessary. Please watch this short YouTube video about The Gratitude Salute.

Never to forget. We have an in-law in the buildings that collapsed, her tales of horror are deafening. Another in-law was in the air, his plane was landed within seconds in the middle of the USA. We had a friend that was sitting at a desk where the Pentagon was hit directly, who was severely burned & seen on TV running out of that hole ... God bless them all. Have a lovely weekend. Thanks for sharing. The cloche parties hosted by Marty @ http://astrollthrulife.blogspot.com she hosted one last spring and now this one in the fall. I wouldn't be surprised if she does a Christmas one too! Go check out her blog for inspiration! Hugs, Cindy

Carol, I used the same You tube video in my post today, also. It was such an inspiration to me when I first saw it. I'm glad we have both passed it on.
Am still on the lookout for a metal picnic basket for you- reasonable, of course!
Have a good weekend. The weather is supposed to be beautiful in OH this weekend. Perfect for football!

Great video. I'v often felt that way. Now I know what to do!

I did post that flag before on a Wordless Wed. I love the vintage colors in it. It was one of the few items we asked for when we bought this house from my MIL and her sisters. We figured since we got the house, everyone else should have a chance at the "stuff". But that flag had been hanging over the grandparents tv forever and seemed as much like a part of the house as the doorknobs!

Hope you can find one, I'll keep an eye out for you. Old Glory Cottage has to have one!
