REDnesday-Home Sweet Home!

Yes, it's that time again! Time to drag all of your RED stuff out of your cabinets and drawers and share them with the world! Sue is our hostess over at It's A Very Cherry World, where you'll find a list of lots of other RED lovers!

This plant stake is one of my favorite little things. I got it at a dollar store in Wisconsin. It looks very Mary Engelbreit-ish, doesn't it? But it doesn't say ME anywhere on it, and I can't imagine anything of hers ending up in a dollar store, can you? This little thing really speaks to me, because I love my home!

I received two lovely red mandevillas for Mother's Day. I need to put some bamboo sticks in there so that they can start climbing.

I used to get hibiscuses every year, but I decided I wanted something a little different. It sure is a beautiful plant, and I hope it's a good climber.

Next we have some red china plates, all made in England, and a very old red beaded purse. I don't know why red plates are so hard to come by around here, and if I do see any, they're really expensive. I had hopes of doing a nice big collage of them on the wall there, but this is as far as I got!

I don't think there's anything red in this picture, but I just wanted to say that I'm so excited that our daughter is home from college for the summer! And if you think that's alot of stuff, thankfully the other half has been unpacked and put away. I couldn't even see out the living room windows for a few days! Welcome home Lizzy!

Welcome home Lizzie! My son is staying and working this summer at his school. :(
Yes, Mandevillas are excellent climbers. A lot of folks where my parents live plant them next to the mailbox and by the time Labor Day hits the mailman has a hard time finding the box!!
Fondly,

That sweet little MEish plaque is too cute!!! Maybe someone thought they would get away with "copying" her and that is why it is at the dollar store! LOL
I just love mandevillas! And I can actually grow them here in the shade of the patio....I put them out for some sun in the morning and then bring them in before they fry! :) We have been blessed with soem cooler weather yet again...but I know it is coming! Thanks Carol for sharing!!!!

Oh, how wonderful that your daughter is home from school. I don't know where to start with all the lovelies you shared. I cannot believe that stake was one dollar! WOW...I'm so loving that and what a deal. It does look like Mary's work, I thought it was. Of course I'm loving those plates since I'm on the hunt for more than the two that I have now, lol. That purse too,,oh girl..that was sooooooooo nice. oh ya,,those flowers. I had them last year and think they are just so precious.

Great reds, love those plates and your garden stake does look like ME. I haven't made my flower shopping trip yet, think I may have to add a mandevilla to the list!

That does look very much like a Mary Engelbreit creation. You bought it at the dollar store? What a great find. Love your flowers too.

How wonderful that your daughter is home! My oldest is moving back home at the end of the month too! She's been away since she finished high school so I'm looking forward to spending time with her while she decides her next move.

You're right about the red plates, they are hard to come by. I'll keep my eyes open for you.

Love that "home from college" photo!! I'm familiar with that scene, from my daughter's college days!! It may look messy, but it's the NICEST mess I'll ever know!.. Love your sweet little plant stake! Happy Rednesday to you! ~tina

Hi Carol!
I would have bet the old homestead that your garden stake was ME!!!
I love mandevilla's and yours are so gorgeous. I think a trip to the nursery is in order. :)
Loving your china plates! I'm wondering if there's so little red china because it's so popular? You're sure right, I seldom see any.
You're so cute, love the pictures of stuff in happy celebration of your daughter's return!
Happy Rednesday,
Sally

I had to come back and comment on your comment-it made me laugh. I have a quirk on an AARP game. It's kind of addictive. I better not try the mah jong-I' wouldn't have time to do anything! HA Ha!

Hi Carol~indeed that plaque surely is ME-ish. Love it. Your mandevilla blossoms are gorgeous and, YES, they will grow and vine. We had pink ones at our former house. I love the red in yours.
Pretty red plate collection and vintage beaded bag.
Happy REDnesday~

Hi Carol! So glad you have a great sense of humour and enjoyed the giggle over the 'Ol Bags.

Love those plates you have there on your wall. You'll just have to keep hunting, after all the hunt is the real fun part of collecting.

Warmest Hugs,

You received some beautiful flowers, there. Thankfully a child came home, too, with all that mess. Got laundry?

Hey, nice manly chest on the t.v. in the mirror - lol! The garden stake is just right - was thinking it might be an ME knock-off, but then, I don't think I've ever seen any of those, surprisingly.
