My Favorite RED Find!

I went to a flea market at the cutest little country church on Saturday. They had a little bit of everything there, including alot of antiques.
It was kind of muddy where it was held, but when I saw this breadbox from afar, the mud almost sucked my shoes off as I hurried towards it!

I think it's my favorite red find. EVER! I don't even know where I'll put it. In the kitchen? In the dining room with all of the picnic baskets? On top of the armoire in the bedroom? So many possibilities, but for now it's just sitting on the dining room table, where I can just stare at it in wonder!

I also got this little angel and devil figurine there. I've seen these on Ebay before. Very expensive. He's missing his little pitchfork, but maybe I can fashion one for him. Sometimes I feel like the devil has got me by the hand as I'm garage saling, or antiquing. I saw alot of things that I would have liked to have bought at that flea market, but after finding this, the angel prevailed and I came home with most of my money! Now please head over to Sue's to see more REDS!

I love the little flower cart on that picnic basket. I'm surprised you didn't have to "mud" wrestle someone for it! Good thing the little devil lost his pitchfork, he was quite as convincing with out it huh? Now you'll still have some cash for next weekend!
Hugs,
Dawn

Ah your finds are gorgeous again! Do you have these plastic french fries' forks over there? One of them would make a lovely devils' fork! I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one who buys something incomplete when it really is too cute!

That cute box would be a great display. I bought an old suitcase at a garage sale once. I decoupaged the insides and left it open on a table for a long time. In it I had various vignettes. In terms of your little devil, if all else fails, you might hot glue a golf tee to his little hand!

Oh Wow, what a great bread box! What good condition it's in...somebody tried to take care of it. LOL.. trudge thru mud... I'd've waded if need be. Hey that little figurine is great. It'd make a great icon for all us Vintage Archeologists!!!

Okay your description of the mud nearly sucking your shoes off had me laughing!!!
I just love the breadbox! The color and graphic are wonderful. Did you feel like 20 more people were chasing you to snatch it? I always do and yet no other person is behind me LOL
LOVE it!

Thank you for the comment! I am so excited to find your site and am so jealous! You have so many wonderful and interesting finds on your site. I especially love all the wonderful kitchenware!

Unfortunately in Southern CA retro has become very popular which means the flea markets are very expensive and although I love searching through yard sales and second hand stores I can't always find the time. I am now a follower and can’t wait to see what other interesting items you find!

I was skipping around different blogs and found you. I am SO GLAD I did! First of all I was in love with everything you were showing, then the sounds of the birds and water came on and I was instantly back in a tiny town in Kansas where I used to visit my grandma. That is exactly the sounds I would hear while I sat out on her front porch swing. Then as I was scrolling further I came across a little German weather barometer thingy and she had one I would play with just like it. All of a sudden I had tears in my eyes from such beautiful memories. Thank you for bringing back wonderful warm memories and sharing all the stuff that I adore. Your my new best friend. I'll be visiting you A LOT!!!! Kelli

Hi Carol Sweetie...
Oh my gosh, I think I would have raced you through the mud to that breadbox. We might have been mud wrestling before we were through. Ha! Ha! Ha! Oh sweetie she is a beauty for sure, and I adore the little devil and angel find. Even without the pitchfork, he says please take me home. How could you resist?

I can't wait to see your Pink Post. I will pop back over and welcome you. I love pink.

Thank you for stopping by and checking on me. I could not have gotten through this shut in without all the prayers, love and visits. I go back to the doc on July 9th and I am hoping he will release me to the outdoors.

Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Friends always, Sherry
