★RED, WHITE & BLUE★

Just thought I'd share a little bit of red, white and blue from around the cottage. Between the awful heat and the roofers next door scaring the living daylights out of her, it took me three days to get a good shot of Cupcake in all of her patriotic glory. I'm very disappointed though that she kept ripping off the sparkly Uncle Sam hat that I bought especially for her!

Out on the front porch, on the little yellow formica table I found last year, I've put a vintage kitchen towel and those USA blocks. Sure wish it was nice enough to sit out there. It's going to be 100 degrees the next three days. 

I made the picket flag and painted the milk can several years ago. The can sits there year round, and as you can see, the top is in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint.

I found this Christmas star light at a garage sale, and I knew right away that I would use it in my patriotic decorations. Can you see how sparkly it is?!

I put it in an old watering can with a bunch of pinwheels and flags, and it sits by the back door. I've tried taking a picture of it all lit up, but it just ends up looking like a white blob of light. So you'll just have to take my word for it, that it looks pretty darn sharp at night!

BIG Uncle Sam! I made him a few years ago, and he's taller than I am. That's his spot every year, by the garage door, and that's because I can see him from the kitchen window. The house is all decorated on the outside, but it's nice to be able to see some decorations from the inside of the house too!
