Thanks for tuning in to another episode of My Weekend Finds, the continuing saga of one girl's quest for more junk! |
After photographing all of my finds from this weekend, I have to admit that I've got a rather troubling problem, and I hope that I can count on your support...... |
I bought another pink radio. Stop the madness! And if you know of a support group for this, please steer me in the right direction! |
This year I've got a thing for vintage gift boxes. |
And I'm using that polka dotty starry quilt as a tree skirt! |
I found a ton of old Christmas cards and I'll be taking pics of each one, which you can see on my Flickr photostream in the next few days. |
Love this big old Christmas card box. Sure wish the cards were still in it! |
Old Christmas stickers. |
A vintage Brach's chocolate box. 3 pounds! |
A Santa blow mold. |
He looks SO surprised to be here. Doesn't he know that most blow molds end up here sooner or later? |
I found that big light-up Santa face on the wall at an estate sale. There was a picture of it in the ad, so I made sure to get there early. I was #9 in the door, and he was mine! |
Little candy cane girl found just enough room to squeeze in amongst all of the other girls! |
A stuffed Santa. Not real old, but he was real cheap! |

You find such neat stuff! My thrifts have had zero vintage Xmas this year! Boooo! I like old gift boxes too-- they had style!
Wow! You found some terrific stuff! I'm having a hard time finding any vintage Christmas, not that I don't have enough already. Lol. Our thrifts here have dried up. People are having yard sales here still because the weather has been nice, but I haven't had time to go to any. I adore your pink radio! I wish I could find a vintage radio in a girly color.
I believe that there is a support group for people who don't hoard vintage pink radios! Love your new one. I would have picked up every single thing in your post. I found a box of old stickers this year too. Not real sure yet of what I am going to do with them.
Happy Holidays!
Erica
I would like to tag along with you for just one weekend. You find the best stuff. I love the Christmas boxes and the quilt underneath. The cards are awesome!
Great junk, Carol! Except one of those santas looked kind of mean! ;)
Great idea to put that quilt around the tree! If I get mine up, it will be swaddled with one of my white chenille blankets. ♥
Hi Carol! I remember those Christmas stickers! My Mom used tolet me lick them and put them on the Christmas Cards! I love popping them out of their page! Also I had that Santa doll, the soft one. I got him when I was 7 in 1972! Love it all! Thanks for the memories!

Where do you go to find all these treasures? It's amazing that you found so much vintage Christmas.

I LOVE your polkdadot star quilt! And the vintage Christmas cards and boxes you found are so wonderful. I wish they still made them like that.
You never cease to amaze me. It would take me years to find what you find in a weekend!
You find the best "junk" :) !!! Lots of fun stuff! Especially love that quilt as a tree skirt. Best wishes, Tammy
The Santa horn sure is cute and unique! I bought a AM transistor radio awhile back and someone asked me what in the world I was going to do with it! Keep it...listen to it...admire it! What do you think? heehee! I love your pink radio! I have radio envy! heehee!
Wonderful, wonderful!! I love your philosophy - wait and it will come to you!!
Blessed Holiday Season!
I want to go to your flea market! You find amazing stuff there.
Love the pink radio!! And, how adorable is that Santa!! Such lovely finds!! xo Heather
Hi Carol,
How fun, that you found vintage stuff at your moms! I love the cards you found. I am on the hunt for some, and I am making vintage garland from them. I have to check out your pinterest pics. Come by for a visit, and see my vintage little girl stove that I decorated with all of my vintage goodies!
Hugs,
Debbie
The pink radio is ridiculously fabulous. Don't know of any support groups, but really, who knows what all what exists on the west side of the city. I'll keep my ears & eyes open. Maybe you can attend by webcam.
WOW!! What great finds!! I think if there was a support group, they would have to meet in a very large hall!! You'd have tons of company!!
chris
Ooohhh I love it all! Great finds. Can't wait to see your pictures!

The one thing about junk addictions is that you can share it all with us on your blog. We would be the last people on earth to go for junk therapy because we are all just like you! We love cute stuff and if we all would admit it, we'd probably be tempted to buy more than one pink radio. I have a pink Barbie radio I use all the time and love it. Very cute vintage goodies!
I love those old puffy stickers! I didn't find any vintage gift wrapping this year...bummer. Everything looks so sweet! :)

Oh my gosh I love when you begin to put out your Christmas vintage. It's all so wonderful! It's a good thing you do have your "junk problem" as I wouldn't know what I need to love it wasn't for pink radios and gift boxes. Warm holiday greetings sent your way! Elizabeth
Hi Carol!

I'm always amazed at what you find! Sure wish I lived near you so I could be as lucky!
Happy New Year!

Hello Carol....
I hope everything is okay....I haven't seen a post from you recently...
Love the scene of the thermos with the skates. There's something about old ice skates as well I know...Last autumn, I found a tattered, moldy box, perhaps a hatbox, at a flea market. Inside, carefully preserved and wrapped in layers of moldy tissue paper was this photo (the frame is not special, though rusty) and the black skates. It broke my heart to think that this had ended up there--when the owner had gone so entirely out of their way to keep these objects together. I purchased them both on the spot for an obscenely cheap price--just a few dollars. The cardboard backing is marked 1929, "John and Friends". You can see it here http://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/4217254332/
