Sue is hosting her REDnesday party over at It's A Very Cherry World! If you love the color red, you've just gotta pop over there and check out everyone's reds! Today I'm sharing a few Valentine's Day decorations, along with a couple of patriotic goodies......my favorite! |
Cupcake wouldn't let me decorate her, but she compromised by getting in the decorations! That's a windowbox on the back porch that she's planted herself in. |
Lots of vintage valentine stuff! |
I finally got up the nerve to make a wreath out of the Dollar Tree ornaments that I snatched up after Christmas two years ago. Even the ribbon for the bow came from Dollar Tree! |
I've been looking for one of these frames for a few years, and was thrilled to find one recently, because I wanted to make........ |
She also made me this patriotic valentine. Does she know me or what?! |
And as I'm learning from all of you great crafters, you've gotta make the back just as pretty as the front! Thank you so much for thinking of me, Sue!~~~~~~~~~~~~And so, if you would like to see more reds, now would be a good time to head over to It's A Very Cherry World! |

I am so envious of all your Valentine porcelains...I only have a couple. They are sure not as easy to find as Christmas ones. You've done a smashing job on your decor...love it!
Great Valentines' and I love the pillow!
So glad you are back my friend!
hugs, Linda
Everything is fab!! That first photo of your kitty would make a great Valentine's card!
My goodness! You have lots of fun Valentines!!! I love what you did with that old mirror....I see those all of the time and wonder what could you do with it???? Perfect idea, it looks 1000% better red! :)
Pretty Valentine decorations! I thought that Cupcake was wearing a Heart on her head when I first saw the picture. I thought to myself, "How did you ever get a cat to wear a heart hat on her head?". I had to go back and look again when you said she hadn't cooperated.
Hi, lovely Valentine post, so many great vintage goodies, love to see your decorating.....Sweet kitty, Blessings Francine.
Oh - I just love that tray! I am going to call hubs right now and ask him to pick up some red spray paint so i can do this to one of my mirrors! What a fabulous idea! And, I am in awe of all your Valentine figures - ohhhhhhh so sweet! Hugs, Patti
So many great projects here! I especially like the heart-shaped wreath made of red ornaments--perfect home decor for that long stretch of time between Epiphany and Valentine's Day.
WELCOME BACK!! I love Cupcake's "hat"! Or is it a crown? Cute banner you made, and the tray is such a great idea! Happy Valentine's Day!
Wow you have a nice collection of Vintage valentine goodies! And I too love those metal frames I always pick them up and paint them and use them is a creation of some kind or for a picture... Hugs, Diane
Cupcake looks like she belongs in the flowerbox! LOL!!!!
Nice Valentine collection and very sweet pillow!
LOL!!! You are silly to spray paint inside! Not good for you, but I sure want to do some myself!
Warmly,
deb
I don't decorate for Valentines' Day, but I certainly felt inspired by your decor! That Cupcake is just too cute. Great photo. (And better than torturing her with dress-up!)
Everything looks great! Cupcake cracks me up. Your heart wreath really turned out cute-enjoy:@)
How darling is your kitty!! It really would be a darling card. I always enjoy your green hutch and it's seasonal makeovers. Beautiful Valentine vignettes.
Beautiful! I love that patriotic heart that Sue made you :) Everything looks lovely...Glad to see you Back!
(((HUGS)))
Great decorations!
It was so sweet for Sue to send you such great goodies!
Carol, Glad to see you back. I missed you and was worried about you! Hope your Mom is doing well. We all get the winter blahs in January...I do better as soon as Feb hits!
First of all, Cupcake is precious! And I love the name. Second, the heart wreath you made is so cute. Third, I love the way you transformed the mirror and added the Valentines. I love using spray paint. I've been itching to start painting again. It hadn't occurred to me to set up a paint station in the bathroom. Hmmm.... :)
I love your idea for the picture frame, it's a great idea!!
My parents had many of those frames!!!
Two blog posts in two days? You are coming back with a vengence!! Little Cupcake sure does like to pose, doesn't she? What a cutie pie. Love your Valentine's decorations. I am still trying to find time to put my up. Hopefully tomorrow:-)

Wow, I am soo jealous of all of your vintage Valentine goodies! I never ever see anything like those in the thrift and antique stores in my part of the world and the prices on ebay go to high for my budget but maybe one day I will find them. I have taken your advice and decided on a price I am willing to pay for something that I see online or on a show, and if I can't find it for that price right away I don't sweat it. I think, when it is meant for me to have it, I will find it at the price I can afford. It is suprising to my hubby that I have gotten this way, because usually if I saw something that I had been wanting and if we had the extra money for it, I bought it. But, less be honest, our money is not going as far as it once did. Between the rise in gas prices and the prices for food and everything else going up except our paychecks that keep getting less and less thanks to our wonderful government, things are tight everywhere! I pray nightly that our country will turn back to the values it was founded on and that government will be for the people and by the people instead of for their personal agenda and ideals of what our country should be. Sorry to get off topic.
love all of your amazing finds and Cupcake is too cute! Don't get too mad at her.
hugs,

I love your little heart banner, carol! And wow,you sure are brave to spray paint in the bathroom but I'm glad you did because the tray looks great!
I've been thinking about spray painting in the garage but then bringing my item into the house to dry well. I so much as look at a paint can and I get it on me or something else so I'm sort of afraid of painting in there! ♥
Very cute...I love all your decorations....blessings
Carol,
So many great V Day decorations and ideas!! Thanks so much for stopping by and your kind words!!
Hugs,
Deb
LOVE! Your holiday decor is always so much fun. I love your tray! You did a great job on it!
Your valentine decor is so pretty. But Cupcake is the prettiest of all! :-) (and that is the cutest name for a cat!)
Love the window box with Cupcake-that is the cutest cat ever! The wreath looks great on your green cupboard. Love your gifties from Sue. Bloggers are the best!
