I'm also participating in the Junk Party over at Kennesha's, so pop on over to see other bloggers' junk! This is my vintage thingie for today, but I did a little makeover to it. I love this old kerosene heater. I can't tell you how many times I've painted it! I always have a fern sitting on it for summer, and it gets a bowl of pine cones and a red bow for Christmas. Well, I got sick of that blue color, so...
I painted it sage green, and decoupaged some cherries on it. But then...
I added these lights, and...
now I have a porch nightlight! This Friday, my Mom, my sister, her daughter, my daughter and I are going...
here! It's going to be a Girls Gone Wild Weekend! Minus the nudity! The fest takes place in Phillips, Wisconsin, and people, please believe me when I say that I will be eating my weight in kolaces (kolackys) and cabbage rolls!
This is so cute!! I love, love, LOVE the green with the cherries. So cute! What a great idea that was with the lights. (I'll have to remember that)
Have a great weekend...sounds like a lot of fun!!
You did a great job on this heater. That is a great idea making it into a planter. Thanks for dropping by my post. I appreciate it.

Are you Czech or Croatian?
I have the same heater on my porch! Yours turned out really cute! That festival sounds like a good one, anything with good food makes for a great time!
Oh do have fun on your trip to our homeland!!!!
I can't WAIT for my turn - - - it's coming, twice.
Love the heater, and the porch night light idea is fabulous!!!
That is amazingly cute--my mom used to have one of those and we sold it at a garage sale for a pittance--darn--I'm so wanting to copy that!

The lights inside the heater are the best idea.
I wish I could find kolackys where I live. I had them when I was young and lived in the Chicago area.
What a great idea for that heater - re purposed yet again! Happy VTT to you!
You did me proud putting cherries on that heater! Looks better than the blue (in my opinion)!

What a cute and inventive porch light you have there! I'm ga-ga cause I'm having a deck built and I need to come up with something cute like that to light our way! Great job, and have fun! So nice to have found you.
I love what you did to the heater--very clever. The festival sounds wonderful kinda like our Octoberfest up in Frankenmuth MI.

Oh your picnic baskets are just the best! I have a large stack of fake wood ones in my living room. The two in the kitchen are the only colored ones I have. I've had others but were really rusted and I got rid of when I had to move. I'm always looking. Thanks for visiting and your sweet comments on my "Junk"!! You have a lot of good tin pieces! Lucky you!
You're so creative! Have fun in Wisconsin!
What a creative idea! OMG is that really your house on the pic? So cute!! And the vintage watering cans.

The kerosene heater is a great piece. I like how you painted it --both the blue and the red look great, especially with the cherry decal. Adding the lights makes it a lovely feature.
So nice that you find different ways to "fix it up" and use it!
Oh ....I love what you did with it! It's adorable and so many different personalities!
I want one of those! Love it with the lights in it. Have a great weekend!
It would never have occurred to me to buy one of these. (I'm sure my husband is very, very grateful to you for giving me one more idea for something to haul home.)
