Let's take a peek at what's blooming in the gardens this week! |
It was a scorcher today, reaching 100 degrees, and if we were beer drinkers, a tall cold one would have gone done quite nicely! |
I finally got the garage windowbox planted. I'm so jealous of all the ladies who have real chickens, so I planted some fake ones! |
PINK HYDRANGEA CLOSE-UP!!! |
The daisy patch hasn't looked this good since I planted them. Some rust-colored disease always appears, but this year, so far so good! |
I'm so happy to see things starting to bloom in front of the new picket fence. Don't flowers just automatically look prettier when there's a picket fence behind them?! |
Lantana. Oh my goodness, if I could have just one annual, it would be Lantana. Can you think of any other flower that has so many colors going all at the same time?! |
One lone pink lily. |
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Bee Balm (Monarda) looks just like fireworks! |

You know you're a real gardener when you love those hour-long rains. Everything is looking great ... envious of your super-tall lily!
What a beautiful post Carol! The garden is lovely. I too am a chicken/rooster lover and although I did have one ( a bantam rooster named Little Jerry, who has gone to heaven now) I am missing have one so now I will copy you :) and plant me some! You always inspire me with all your great ideas! Maggie from Maggie's Lil' Fixins
Thank you for the beautiful luscious garden pictures. I spent hours pulling the hose around last night trying to save all that I could. I have purple bee balm and yes it looks just like fireworks. Enjoy all you wonderful work...smiles...Renee
New follower. Love the photos, the picket fence and pennant banner are lovely. We do container planting since we live on base. First batch was stolen, replaced those, second batch is dying. So I'm trying to save them. I love the idea of gardening but it's kicking my butt.

Oh your flowers are lovely! I didn't get anything planted this year so far, but I think a few things will come home with me soon! I miss flowers on my deck! My Hydrangea Tree is getting ready to bloom and I'm so happy about that! Hugs, Linda
Everything is looking so lovely!! I haven't weeded in ages due to the heat. I need to get out there!
Your flowers are beautiful! It's extremely hot here too (Indiana). I'm not a beer drinker either but I always think a cold beer looks good. How about a frozen margarita instead?
Lovin' your Shop of Horrors lily! Also got a chuckle out of your chickens, much less maintenance I'm sure! Happy Weekend:@)
Such a beautiful and peaceful garden! Thanks for sharing it! Happy sweet weekend to you! xo Heather
Love all of your photos. Thank you for sharing. Love the blog too. It is so hot here. 100 degrees and 100% humidity...I'm an avid gardner, but even that is too hot for me. LOL.
Things are looking pretty up North. Wish I could go out and look at my flowers...or should I say water them before they all die in this heat! Love your 4th header!
i WISH TOO I HAD SOME REAL CHICKENS AND ROOSTER...YOUR GARDEN IS LOVELY. LOVE YOUR SWEET DAISIES THEY LOOK VERY NICE. I HAD BEEN THINKING ABOUT SOME FOR MY GARDEN AS WELL. HAPPY SUNDAY WITH LOVE JANICE
It's been so much fun to see all your lovely blooms. You take such good care of your gardens. Our plants need a desperate drink of rain. We've been hauling hoses since we've come back from our week away. Our flowers had a bit of help from our live-in niece, but they all need some tlc.
Ahhhh....I love this time of year with it's many colorful blooms! I enjoy your blog so much, Carol!
Happy July!!!
